Answer: The Need-a-Doctor Registry is available to individuals residing in Calgary or surrounding areas who do not have a family doctor or whose doctor is retiring.

Answer: Yes, you can still request a doctor from us. There are many residents in Calgary who are searching for family doctors. Our primary goal is to help those individuals find doctors.

Answer: Because of the high demands for family doctors, requests for specific doctor or clinic may not be accommodated. However, we will try to match registrants with doctors based on the information they provide in the registration form.

Answer: After submission of the registration form, a confirmation note will be displayed indicating that we have received the registration form. Connecting with a family doctor is strictly done in a first come, first served basis. Once received, the information on the form will be reviewed and a doctor will be assigned who will contact you as soon as possible usually within 48 hours (excluding weekends).

Answer: After your application form is received, the information therein will be reviewed. Then you shall be matched with a doctor who will contact you via the contact information you provided. Usually, you will book an appointment to meet with your prospective doctor.

Answer: Because of the high demands for family doctors, requests for female or specific doctor may not be accommodated. However, we will try to match registrants with doctors based on the information they provide in the registration form.

Need a Family Physician?

The need for a family physician in Calgary and area is pressing. We are committed to help various patients in need to get connected with doctors taking new patients. Our mission is to connect you to a family doctor that will provide you with the services you are looking for.

Connecting you with a family doctor is easy. All that is required is to fill out an online registration form. The first step in filling the registration form is to identify your local residential area. Once your residential area has been identified, you will be taken to the initial registration form page. After your registration form has been received, it will be reviewed and you will be contacted as soon as possible by a family doctor accepting new patients.

However, there is also a paper-based registration form that could be downloaded, printed and filled out manually and faxed to us. The paper-based registration form is in two formats - 'PDF' and 'MS Word'. Both contain the same information, and the one to use depends on the registrant's preferences and the software he/she has installed on his/her computer - the "PDF" requires the Acrobat Reader, while the Word version requires the Microsoft Word program.
